General Scholarship Information
This scholarship allows one to select Active Duty (full time military) or Reserve Forces (one weekend a month / two weeks a year) for component after college.
Duration of scholarship:
maximum of 4 years, minimum of 1 year
Restrictions:
Cannot be in the SMP program or an active member of the National Guard / Reserves
Commitment:
4 years on active duty followed by 4 years in the IRR or 8 Years in the Reserve Components (one weekend a month / two weeks a year)
GPA:
have and maintain a 2.5 college GPA
Deployable:
Not during college. After you graduate you will be deployable.
Money:
Either full tuition and fees or room and board (up to $10,000 if you live on campus and up to $7,800 if you live off campus)
Books:
$1,200 per year ($600 per semester)
Stipend:
- $300 per month for freshmen
- $350 per month for sophomores
- $450 per month for juniors
- $500 per month for seniors
Other:
Can be used with the HOPE and other (non-federal) scholarships. Can be used with all chapters of the GI Bill. Can be converted to a GRFD or DG scholarship. |
